(Ecofin Agency) - In Nigeria, oil lifting from Forcados has resumed as two tankers have left the terminal over the past days, shipping data reveals.

This comes after an announcement at the beginning of May according to which oil major Shell was conducting tests on the pipeline leading to the terminal.

According to Platts, the Suezmax Densa Orca left Forcados on Sunday, May 28, while the Suezmax Astro Perseus departed the terminal on Tuesday. Both tankers were at the terminal respectively since May 22 and May 5.

The news matches information provided by a source close to the matter who said: “There have been a few liftings, things are going well. [The grade is] loading but it is a little premature to say the situation has been resolved and working normally.”

Forcados is one of the country’s top export grades with an output of 200,000-250,000 bpd average. However, attacks on the infrastructure in February 2016 caused it to shut down.
