(Ecofin Agency) - San Leon Energy Plc has announced that the reperforation operations at wells in the Oil Mining Lease (OML) 18 onshore Nigeria, has boosted production to about 61,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).
According to the company, the increase in production is expected to boost Nigeria’s output.
“The well has now been temporarily shut in to allow minor production upgrades and additional workover operations. The reperforation programme will continue to be implemented across a number of wells in this field in the coming months,” the company said.
The Africa and Europe focused San Leon, said it is expecting new production from two other Nigerian oil prospects in H1 of this year.
The company not quite long provided an update on operations and cash flow proceeds related to the initial indirect 9.72% interest in the OML 18 project, onshore Nigeria, Vanguard news reports.
Nigeria, one of the countries exempted from a deal agreed by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), to cut production reported that its crude oil production in November was near 1.8 million bpd, an increase of 28% from the previous month.
