(Ecofin Agency) - Anadarko Petroleum on Tuesday revealed that, it has signed a Unitization and Unit Operating Agreement (UUOA) with Eni, for the development of the massive natural gas resources that connects Offshore Area 1 and Offshore Area 4.
The Offshore Area 1 is operated by Anadarko Mozambique Area 1 Ltd. (AMA1) while the Offshore Area 4 is operated by Eni East Africa (EEA).
Under the UUOA and formerly announced Decree Law, the Prosperidade and Mamba straddling natural gas reservoirs, which contains the Unit, is to be developed separately and in an organized manner by Eni and Anadarko. They are to be developed till 12 Tcf of natural gas reserves from each Area have been achieved.
According to PR News Wire, the future progress of the Unit is to be jointly pursued by Anadarko and Eni over a 50:50 joint-venture operatorship. The UUOA is to undergo a final approval by the Government of Mozambique.
Meanwhile, Anadarko also entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government to deliver natural gas from its Mozambique LNG development for domestic usage.
The MOU, allows Offshore Area 1 to deliver about 50 Mmcf/d of natural gas per train (100 MMcf/d). The gas will be delivered at price that is fair to all the parties involved and also supports local natural gas development.
