Subsea 7 has been granted a contract by Burullus Gas Company, for the provision of a platform extension and tie-in on the Phase 1 of BP’s West Nile Delta development of the Taurus and Libra fields, offshore Egypt.
Under the contract, worth between $50 million and $150 million, engineering and project management work is to begin with immediate effect and to be carried out at Subsea 7's Cairo office and Global Projects Centre in London.

According to Energy-pedia, offshore activities will begin in H2 of 2016 and Subsea 7's Rockwater 2 is to be used as the key hook-up and accommodation vessel with Seven Borealis performing the offshore lift of the platform extension and the heavy construction vessel, while Seven Arctic will install the umbilical. Fabrication of the deck extension and spools will be performed at the Petrojet Maadia yard near Alexandria.
