Ocean Installer has secured a field development contract for Folawiyo Aje Services Limited, offshore western Nigeria.

Under the contract which is to begin with immediate effect, Ocean Installer will carry out the offshore construction of the Aje Ph1 project off the coast of Nigeria. Works to be carried out includes mooring buoy installation and hook up, flowline and umbilical installation.

According to the company, offshore operations will commence in Q1 of 2016 and will be performed by the construction support vessel Normand Vision, while the engineering work for the project will be carried out all through its offices in Stavanger, Aberdeen and Houston to meet the demanding schedule of the project.

The Aje field is situated in OML 113 in the Benin Basin, 24 km offshore western Nigeria. The water depth in the province is around 3 000 feet.

Furthermore, the OML 113 is operated by Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum with 60% interest while Chevron Nigeria Deepwater, Vitol Exploration Nigeria, Panoro Energy, Energy Equity Resources and Jacka Resources respectively owns the remaining 40% in a joint venture.
