The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has said that the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel Kwame Nkrumah, which stopped operation in March, will restart operation on April 9.
The partners on the Jubilee Field had reported the two weeks shutdown of the FPSO on March 20, 2016, stating that it was for an intended maintenance work on key equipment of the FPSO.
The FPSO Kwame Nkrumah operates in the Jubilee oil fields off the coast of the country. After the closure and the decrease in gas supply from the West Africa Gas Pipeline Company (WAGPCo), Volta River Authority (VRA), the country’s power producer, had announced that they were in talks with Ivorian power producers for any likely power supply.
In spite of the guarantee, some parts of the country witnessed recurrent power shortages.
However, GRIDCo had assured Ghanaians on Monday that the power systems engineers will keep on making efforts to ease any unfavorable impact arising from the shutdown, Business and Financial Times reports.
