Amec Foster Wheeler has been granted a contract by Sasol for works on the liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Mozambique.
Under this contract, Amec Foster Wheeler will perform a detailed design and engineering work for the phase 1 of the PSA development for surface facilities at Temane, north of Maputo.“This award reinforces Amec Foster Wheeler’s position as a leading Oil & Gas service provider in Mozambique. We have delivered many projects for Sasol and its partners, in-country including building the original Temane facility. For this project, we will deploy our extensive expertise to this development which will see further hydrocarbon resources produced to support Southern African growth,” Roberto Penno (photo), Amec Foster Wheeler’s group president for Asia, Middle East, Africa and Southern Europe, told Energy Voice.
The company beforehand concluded the early engineering works for the project which included the development of a local content plan focused on how to exploit the use of local suppliers, contractors and labour in Mozambique during the implementation of the project.
