DeepOcean has announced that it has been granted a three-year contract by Tullow to provide a light construction vessel (LCV), offshore Ghana.
According to the company, the DP2 ROV/construction vessel Dina Star, has been prepared with two 220HP Constructor ROV systems owned by DeepOcean Ghana.
The scope of work includes inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR), surveys and subsea construction on the deepwater in Ghana.
DeepOcean Ghana started working with Tullow Ghana in February 2015 when it organized the Rem Forza to carry out multipurpose construction works on Jubilee. The Rem Forza has at present been substituted by the Dina Star, permitting the Rem Forza to keep on working with Tullow Ghana to offer lodging and construction support on the TEN project starting from last month.
“We are very pleased that with this new contract we have the opportunity to increase the scope of work we are undertaking offshore Ghana for Tullow. Our commitment to local content which is in line with Tullow’s has been the key element of our work. We continue to demonstrate this through our use of local crew and in-country services, including Ghanaian ROV pilots and engineering support. Available competence in DeepOcean will be used to train and develop these local resources,” a representative of DeepOcean Ghana told Energy-pedia.
