Petrobel to boost production from the Nooros field to 700 million cubic feet per day in September

Friday, 15 July 2016 10:16

In Egypt, Petrobel has announced that production is expected to increase to 700 million cubic feet per day, upon the conclusion of drilling activities on the Nooros field located in Abu Madi West concession in the Nile Delta by September, 2016.

The field is a significant gas find made by Eni and BP in July 2015 and was drilled by Petrobel, Energy Egypt reports.

The Nooros field produces 305 million standard cubic feet of gas, 3,000 barrels of condensates and 1,500 barrels of NGL per day from four wells. This has been achieved following the de-bottlenecking and enhancement of existing production facilities.

BP holds a 25% stake in the concession of Abu Madi West, and Eni, through its subsidiary IEOC, holds 75%. The field is operated by Petrobel, a joint venture between IEOC and the State partner Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).
