Circle Oil on Friday, announced the completion of repairs on a pipeline used to transport natural gas from its Sebou field in Morocco. The pipeline was shut in August due to an earth movement close to the town of Kenitra in northern Morocco.
The incident resulted in the temporary closure of an Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM) owned and operated gas pipeline spur used to transport about 30% of the gas produced in the Sebou field, which is owned and operated by Circle Oil Maroc with a working interest of 75% and ONHYM with a 25% working interest.
“There were no injuries associated with the incident and the pipeline has been closed as a precaution while the situation is assessed and repairs are implemented. The reduction in gas flow rates is expected to be temporary,” the company had said in a statement, adding that about 30% of its regional production was affected by the disruption.
The pipeline was shut whilst a repair was designed and executed. The renovation was performed by Circle Oil without incident, on schedule and a little under budget. Production was resumed through the repaired pipeline on 15 September 2016, Energy-pedia reports.
