In Nigeria, Eland Oil and Gas Plc. in its operation update on Tuesday, announced that it has significantly boosted its existing output rate by 50%.
After the completion of rehabilitation works on the Opuama-1 well, the Opuma field situated 92km northwest of Warri is currently producing oil from 4 strings within two wells, therefore increasing the average gross production output to 4,400 bo/d. 1,980 bo/d out of this new output rate, goes to Eland”s JV company, Elcrest E&P Nigeria Ltd.
Additionally, this 4,400 bo/d signifies a boost of more than 50%, away from the initially announced output level.
“Having stabilised production and uptime on Opuama field earlier in the year, we placed renewed focused on low-cost workover potential in the field. It is most welcome that we are starting to see the production increase from this initiative. With further work planned, we have a number of options to continue these production increases prior to the commencement of the drilling campaign”, George Maxwell, CEO of Eland Oil and Gas told Energy mix report.
