Subsea 7, has been awarded an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract worth between $150 million and $300 million, offshore Egypt, by Pharaonic Petroleum Company.
According to the subsea Engineering, Construction and Services Company, the contract which will be executed at water depths of over 900 meters in the Atoll field includes the installation of over 40 km of rigid pipelines and associated structures for the new Atoll field, binding it into the existing Taurt field at a water depth of 100 meters. A 105 km umbilical will also be installed connecting the Atoll field to shore.
It added that engineering and procurement services have already begun and offshore campaigns will take place in H2 of 2017 and the early months of 2018, using its Seven Borealis, Seven Eagle, and Seven Arctic vessels.
“We are delighted to strengthen our presence in Egypt. This substantial contract award recognizes our technical expertise and track record of strong execution for Pharaonic Petroleum Company,” Gilles Lafaye, Subsea 7’s Region Vice President for Africa, told Offshore Energy Today.
Pharaonic Petroleum Company is a joint venture between BP Egypt and its partners in the Ras El Barr (REB) concession.
In June, BP made a final investment decision for the development of the Atoll discovery in Egypt. The project is an early production scheme and is expected to bring about 300 Mmcfpd gross of gas to the Egyptian domestic gas market starting from H1 of 2018.
