In Angola, a mutual agreement, was entered into recently between the chairperson of the Board of Directors of Sonangol EP, Francisco de Lemos José Maria (photo), and Cláudio Descalzi Eni’s CEO for the development of plants in the Luanda and Lobito (Benguela) refineries.
Sonangol in a press note stated that the agreement also includes the improvement and increase in the potential of the Luanda refinery, boosting of its refining capacity and the consequent decrease of the volumes of refined products to import.
An agreement was also reached on the necessary means of increasing investment in the sector, especially on the block 15/06 where ENI performs development activities.
Meanwhile the advancement of the current assessment of gas resources in the Bas Congo Basin, was also discussed. This assessment could result in energy production for the domestic market, backing up the economy and agricultural projects under the diversification of the national economy.
According to Angola Press News, the agreement concludes a number of contacts and agreements which began in November, 2015 in Rome.
