Mozambique’s Minister of Resources and Mining, Pedro Couto, on Monday revealed that the country’s natural gas exports increased to about 115.4 million gigajoules in 2015.
He revealed this at the opening the 1st Coordinating Council of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy. He noted that the production of natural gas had risen by 8% and the decline in prices in the global markets can affect exploration activities in the country.
The Minister, however, said that talks are in progress to begin the development of natural gas reserves found in the Rovuma basin by ENI and Anadarko, between 2020 and 2021, Petroleum Africa reports.
