(Ecofin Agency) - Petroceltic International in its operational update announced that development drilling on the Ain Tsila gas and condensate field in Algeria, has been successfully completed.
The development well AT-13 began drilling on April 20, 2016 and on May 14, 2016 it was drilled to a total depth of 2020 meters, encountering 73 meters of gas and condensate. The result obtained from the wireline showed excellent reservoir quality, consistent with the pre-drill forecast and comparable to the one encountered at the AT-8 well.
Well test results are to be obtained later in 2016 when scheduled batch completion, stimulation and testing activities have been carried out. The well was spud within planned time estimates and under budget.
The Sinopec Rig used for the drilling operation will now be dispatched to the AT-11 development well, situated in the north of the field about 4.2 km from AT-8 and 1.8km from the AT-1. The AT-11 well is to be spud as a vertical well to a total depth of 2050m MD.
AT-13 is the second well of the Ain Tsila development drilling campaign. Situated in the north of the field about 1.8 km from the appraisal well AT-8 and 6.1 km from the discovery well AT-1, the AT-13 well is the second of about 24 new development wells on Ain Tsila estimated to create and maintain the just approved yearly average wet gas plateau rate of 355 Mmscf/d, Energy-pedia reports.
