MX Oil Plc., in its operational update on the Aje field, offshore Nigeria announced that the field is getting close to full production as commissioning activities on the floater are being concluded and preparations are currently ongoing for a three days production test which is anticipated to be carried out soon.
The Aje field located in the OML 113 achieved first oil on May, 3 2016, representing a great milestone as the first production from Nigeria’s Dahomey basin and putting lagos one of the league of oil producing states in the country after Niger Delta.Aje-4 and Aje-5 wells have commenced operations, with each producing 5000 bpd. Even though gas lift has not yet been utilized.
“Stabilized combined flow rates will be determined in the coming weeks, in conjunction with final mechanical optimization, commissioning, and the Nigerian regulatory approval process. The flow rates exhibited to date indicate a highly productive reservoir,” Panoro said.
The geological models of the Aje field have been reviewed using the new 3D seismic as well as the data gathered from the Aje-5 well. This permits more specific planning for future Phase 2 drilling to be performed and a possible well locations for Aje-6 and Aje-7 have been identified.
“Good progress is being made in order to prepare the Aje field for full production and the results to date are encouraging. We look forward to further updates on the stabilised flow rates in due course,” MX Oil's CEO, Stefan Olivier, told Oil Voice.
