Libya: Mellitah, Wafa and Sabratha offshore fields completed ahead of schedule - NOC

The Tripoli-based National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced the conclusion of routine maintenance work at the Wafa field, Mellitah complex as well as the Sabratha offshore oil platform, ahead of time.

This maintenance work was announced a week ago and was supposed to last for a week and three days.The early completion of the work will facilitate the start of gas production and the pumping of gas to the coastal pipe network supplying the rest of Libya as well as the export of gas ahead of schedule.

Situated approximately 22 km east of Zwara City, the Mellitah Complex covers an area about 355 hecters and consists of Oil and Gas treatment facilities, crude Oil and products storage tanks, LPG and solid Sulfur loading facilities (SPM) and all required utilities including Gas and steam turbines for power generation.The Complex has two plants, one for treating the Oil and condensate production from Wafa field while the other plant treats the Gas and condensate coming from Sabratha Offshore Platform located 110 km from Libyan coast in Bahr Essalam offshore field.

Eni is the partner of the NOC in all the three concessions, Libya Herald reports.
