Egypt’s Petroleum Minister Tarek El-Molla on Thursday, revealed that production rates from the country’s North Bahariya Petroleum Company (Norpetco) have risen to 8,000 bpd.

According to the minister in a statement, the overall capacity of Norpetco’s consolidated production was approximately 14.92 million bbls on June 30, 2015. He noted that that the company has increased its storage capacity from 48,400 to 70,000 bbls by buying nine warehouses with the capacity of 2,400 bbls.

Norpetco has succeeded in drilling eight developmental affiliated wells including Abrar-23, Abrar-20, Abrar-15, Abrar S-4, 5, 6, and Ganna W-2. As a result, the company increased production rates from all its concession areas and is currently planning on creating three water injection stations.
