Nigeria: Shell increases gas output from Agbada field

As part of move to increase the capacity of gas available for power generation purposes, Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) on Tuesday announced that it has increased gas production from the Agbada field located in East Niger Delta.

According to SPDC’s corporate media relations manager, Precious Okolobo, production from the field was increased from 10 mcf to 20 mcf and 1,500 bpd. She added that the company was aiming for 40 mcf and 2,500 bpd, the Oil and Gas Year reports.
SPDC has over 6,000 kilometres of pipelines and flowlines, 87 flowstations, 8 gas plants and more than 1,000 producing wells in Niger Delta.

The company is the operator of a partnership agreement which includes the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), with 55% interest, Shell with 30%, Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (TEPNG) 10% and Agip Oil Company limited with 5%
