Chevron-led $10 billion Angola LNG project has resumed LNG production after a scheduled two-month shutdown.
The liquefaction plant which produces 5.2 million tons per year was shut down in July as part of the restart and commissioning programme put in place, following the closure of the facility for more than two years as a result of a major rupture on a flare line that happened in April 2014.
It began operations again in May, shipping four cargoes from the facility until the maintenance finally began in July.
“I can confirm that Angola LNG has resumed production and sales of LNG from its plant in Soyo,” an Angola LNG spokeswoman told LNG World News.
Angola LNG is a joint venture between Sonangol, Chevron, BP, Eni and Total with 22.8%, 36.4%, 13.6%, 13.6% and 13.6%.
