As part of efforts to boost the economy, the Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that foreign missions will from now on be involved in the sales of products and services produced in the country. This is aimed at improving the export of local products, increase revenue, create jobs, and assist in diversifying the economy.
The FG through the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment is collaborating with the country’s foreign missions abroad in achieving this goal. According to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah (photo), an order had been given to these missions to make sure that visas are processed within 48 hours, so as to attract investors to the country.
The official added that the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) recently signed by Nigeria in Davos, Switzerland will help in improving the export of local products, the Guardian reports.
