In Madagascar, the minister in charge of presidential projects, land development and equipment, Narson Rafidimanana (photo), inaugurated last July 31st, a new single land desk, in the centre of the Great Island, the 49th of its kind across the country, and the 4th to be opened this year.
“The goal here is to bring Malagasy populations closer to their lands but also land offices to populations to avoid land conflicts, a lot of which took place recently,” the minister declared.
Single land desks will help resolve issues on site and will be established in all of Madagascar’s districts, added M. Rafidimanana.
The commissioning of this new desk at Ankazobe is expected to enable the simplification, in a considerable manner, of registration and land title issuance procedures for locals who up till now had to go to neighboring communities to access these services.
