The International land Coalition will organize the next Global Land Forum (GLF) entitled “United for land rights, peace, and justice” in Bandung (Indonesia) next 22-27 September 2018. The event will bring together relevant actors for participative talks on global land issues.
The institution indicates that it organizes the Global Land Forum every two to three years. During this year’s edition, local organizations, activists, local and national NGOs, researchers, multilateral organizations and government agencies from around the world are expected.
The forum will also hone their understanding of “the complex and dynamic political, economic, environmental and social links between land governance, food security, poverty and democracy. This forum will discuss agrarian reform as one of the many land development issues. It will be a great opportunity for all stakeholders to exchange information, knowledge, and experience among countries on agrarian issues.
Furthermore, this event will foster exchanges in a context marked by massive agricultural land grabbing. ILC also indicated that ‘the program is structured to allow participants who do not necessarily interact regularly to debate, exchange, learn from each other's experiences and successes, develop strategies and build relationships to create new perspectives. The Forum is also an opportunity for the 206 ILC members to adopt a declaration at their Members' Assembly committing them to action”.
Let’s recall that ILC is a global alliance gathering civil society and intergovernmental organizations with the objective to place human beings at the core of land governance.
