To secure Malagasy populations’ access to land, the Projet de promotion d’une politique foncière responsable (Responsible Land Management Promotion Policy Project), ProPFR, was just launched. This occurred in Boeny, in the North West of Madagascar, on the sidelines of a workshop organized by the ministry in charge of president projects, land development and equipment and the German development cooperation, GIZ.

It is a major prerequisite to valorize forest areas,” said news website L’Express de Madagascar.
The Boeny region will be the project’s pilot region for four years. Targeted groups in the region “are families spread across about ten communities and in the North-West, women are also targeted, especially “family chiefs. There are also marginalized groups”.
