Egypt could set a logistic center in West Africa to boost exports, the trade minister Tarek Kabil (photo) announced last April 4.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Egyptian-Lebanese partnership aiming at boosting both countries’ trade across Africa, Tarek Kabil notified that this new facility could be implemented either in Ghana or Côte d'Ivoire.
According to the official’s comments relayed by Egypt Today, the creation of this center, should be part of the “Egypte-Liban vers l’Afrique” (Egypt-Lebanon towards Africa) initiative launched in 2016. This should boost Egypt’s exports within the continent as the country will benefit from its Middle-East partner’s broad network.
Let’s recall that in 2016, the two countries had signed an agreement that enabled Cairo to export 60 ceramic containers to Uganda, via the Egyptian-Lebanese company set up under this initiative.
