In 2017, Egypt has exported 4.8 million tons of agricultural products against 4.34 million tons in 2016. The figures have been revealed by Freshplaza which mentioned a report of the Egyptian minister of agriculture published on January 13, 2018.
During the period under review, citruses were the most exported product with 1.4 million tons (about 29% of the total production).
Potatoes (800,000 tons) took the second stage, next came onions (500,000 tons), grapes (140,000 tons), pomegranates (130,000 tons), strawberries (40,000 tons) and mangoes (49,000 tons).
Egypt mainly exports its products towards Russia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Italy and United Kingdom.
