Tuesday, 17 April 2018 19:54

Mali’s customs administration revealed that the country collected a total of CFA149.125 billion (about $280.9 million) as customs revenues during the first quarter of 2018 which ended on March 31, 2018.

These revenues are slightly down CFA7.155 billion (about $13.4 million) from the initial expectations guidance of CFA156.280 billion (about $295 million) over the period. This represents an achievement rate of 95.4%. However, this amount collected in Q1, 2018 is up by 4% compared with that of the same period in 2017.

Let’s note that out of these customs revenues, CFA46.429 billion (about $87.4 million) has been provided by petroleum products against the previous forecasts of CFA50.184 billion (about $94.5 million), an achievement rate of 92.52%. Moreover, non-oil products generated CFA102.695 billion (about $193.5 million) instead of the CFA106.096 billion (about $ 200 million) previously forecasted, representing an achievement rate of 96.79%.

Let’s recall that Mali’s customs administration has been assigned to mobilize CFA641.100 billion (about $1.2 billion) of customs revenues for 2018.
