Côte d’Ivoire: About $7 bn tax and customs revenues mobilized in 2017

Côte d’Ivoire has mobilized CFA3.68 trillion (about $6.9 billion) of tax and customs incomes, in 2017.

Tax revenues account for CFA1.96 trillion ($3.7 billion), an increase by CFA304 billion ($574 million), a 15.5% increase compared to last year. However, this amount is slightly down by CFA30.9 billion ($58.3 million) from the initial target (CFA1.99 trillion or $3.76 billion).

As far as customs revenues are concerned, they were up by CFA1.72 trillion ($3.25 billion) compared the initial target which was CFA1.68 trillion ($3.17 billion). This represents an increase by CFA42.91 billion ($81 million).

As for 2018, the government set a goal of CFA4.06 trillion ($7.67 billion) tax and customs revenues to be mobilized by the relevant authorities. In detail, it is CFA2.26 trillion ($4.27 billion) to be mobilized by tax authorities and CFA1.80 trillion ($3.4 billion) by customs.

A part of these revenues will be used to finance 2018 State budget which stands at CFA6.72 trillion ($12.06 billion).

Furthermore, the country plans to raise CFA1.31 trillion (about $2.4 billion) on regional (WAMU) and international financial markets this year.
