The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) will support the Nigerian government in developing special economic zones (SEZs) and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.
“UNIDO is strongly committed to support the remarkable efforts of the government to increase the national productivity and achieve sustainable industrialization through value addition and sustainable diversification of productive activities for economic growth and poverty reduction,” said Jean Bakole, UNIDO’s representative to ECOWAS.
According to Bakole, UNIDO plans to get more involved in Nigeria, knowingly in sectors like mining, digital technology, creative industries and others to support the country’s industrial revolution plan.
UNIDO promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability in developing countries and economies in transition.
