In Côte d’Ivoire, property tax is part of taxes with returns “far below the estimated potential”. A statement made by Sanogo Moussa (photo), the Prime Minister’s Secretary of State in charge of State budget and portfolio, during a “2017 balance sheet-2018 targets” seminar initiated by the directorate general of taxes (DGI) in Yamoussoukro earlier this week.
As reported by the Ivorian news agency (Agence Ivoirienne de Presse) “the State Secretary invited the DGI to work on broadening the tax base in general, with a particular focus on taxes with returns that are far below the estimated potential, especially value added tax and property tax”.
The official also said that CFA2.2634 trillion of gross revenues are expected for the ongoing year.
