The World Bank announced $80 million support for development projects in Guinea. The new aid was granted through two financing agreements signed Monday.
The first $50 million agreement is expected to cover the education sector. Its main objective is to build capacity for the sector’s players, particularly in pre-school education, to facilitate access to education for all Guinean children. The second $30 million financing will strengthen the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to generate income and create jobs.
The two agreements are part of Guinea's National Economic and Social Development Plan (PNDES), for 2016-2020. The World Bank plans to grant about $340 million for 6 projects by 2020.
