The first agreement is about a $130 million loan that will be granted by the International Development Association (IDA) for the implementation of projet eau-assainissement en milieu rural (PAEMIR). This project will provide 1.5 million citizens with access to drinking water and better sanitary facilities.
The second agreement ($30 million), coupled with the $4 million that Senegal will provide will be dedicated to the Saint Louis Emergency Recovery and Resilience Project (SERRP). This project is aimed at reducing the vulnerability of the population along Langue de Barbarie (in the Northern region) to coastal hazards and, reinforcing the resilience planning of Saint-Louis.
SERRP will benefit about 55,000 residents along the coast and be the foundation of future investments aimed at reducing vulnerability to coastal hazards for the 213,000 residents of Saint-Louis.
The third agreement ($60 million) is for the Projet d’amélioration de la qualité et de l’équité de l’éducation (PAQEEB) initiated to support the efforts of Senegal in the educational sector and consolidate their achievements.
