Mark Zuckerberg plans to merge Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp

To be able to chat with Instagram and Messenger contacts via Facebook account; this is the new challenge that Mark Zuckerberg (photo), Facebook founder and owner of the various platforms, wants to meet.

The new platform will help Facebook fluidify social interactions between millions of users on its platform.

This large project can take time and research. “There’s a lot more that we need to figure out before we finalize the plans. And then, of course, this is going to be a long-term project that I think will probably be to whatever extent we end up doing it in a 2020 thing or beyond, Zuckerberg  said.

The new platform should not only establish a bridge between the different platforms but also guarantee security with end-to-end encryption. As far as the end-to-end encryption is concerned, Zuckerberg reckons “people really like this in WhatsApp. I think it’s the direction that we should be going in with more things in the future. I think there’s an opportunity to use the work that we have done with WhatsApp rather than doing it in different ways in the different messaging experiences.

In January 2019, We Are Social and Hootsuite indicated in their Global Digital 2019 Reports that Facebook had 2,271,000,000 users in the world against 1,500,000,000 for WhatsApp, 1,300,000,000 for Facebook Messenger and 1000,000,000 for Instagram. This represents a total of 6,071,000,000 active accounts.
