During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, Egypt via its IT minister Amr Talaat signed 32 IT cooperation agreements. These agreements were not all for itself. Sometimes, they were for institutions under the ministry like the ITIDA - Information and Communication Technology Outsourcing (ITIDA).
According to the minister who was laying the outcomes of his participation in this MWC 2019 on March 4, 2019, these agreements were about digital transformation, the creation of data centres, the development of networks, tech training and investors’ attraction.
Among the partners Egypt initiated the agreements with are ; Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson and Microsoft. The official also discussed partnership potentials with about 41 high managers of tech firms like Lenovo, LG, Hewlett Packard Entreprise (HPE) and Flextron.
According to Amr Talaat, there is only one goal to all these agreements and meetings : help Egypt succeed in its digital transformation at the dawn of the fourth industrial revolution and contribute to the manifestation of its socioeconomic growth potential.
