Lagos to become "a global technology hub” thanks to Kantagowa ICT Business Park

Wednesday, 05 September 2018 18:57

Jimmy Onyemenam, CEO of Bridgeways Global Projects Limited commissioned to build the 15.7 hectares Kantagowa ICT Business Park in Lagos, revealed that the infrastructure would cost roughly NGN43 billion ($119,886,583) and should be completed within 30 months. Last weekend, speaking with representatives of Computer Village, the Ikeja-based ICT accessory market located in Southwest Lagos, Jimmy Onyemenam explained that the technology park would be built along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway and could be the final location of Computer Village.

What we are developing in Kantagowa will elevate the status of Lagos as a global technology location. It is far beyond providing real estate for the development of another Computer Village", the CEO indicated. Bridgeways Global Projects Limited plans to manage the technology park in the 36 coming years before transferring the management to the federal government.

The fund for the construction will be provided via a scheme, mixing loan and equity participation. "Of course, there is a very strong pool of foreign funding, which we shall also be working with",  Jimmy Onyemenam said adding that “when completed, the ICT Business Park will comprise of over 3000 retail outlets of assorted sizes, a 4000-capacity k-klamps mall, 5,000 seater exhibition hall and ICT incubator complex, assemblage/warehouses, and office accommodation”.
