iWayAfrica, the pan-African provider of satellite communications solutions in Africa, announced August 8 the signing of a commercial contract with Avanti Communications Group, a satellite operator and provider of satellite data communications services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The agreement is to offer data service across Sub-Saharan Africa via the HYLAS 4 satellite.
Mathew Welthagen, CEO of Gondwana International Networks Group, iWayAfrica's parent company, explained that the contract with Avanti Communications Group strengthens the Internet service provider's presence in Africa. Through the HYLAS 4 satellite launched last April, the company which already operates in 44 Eastern and Southern African countries via the HYLAS 2 satellite, will now conquer new markets in West and Central Africa.
Let’s note that the strategy allows iWayAfrica to better meet the growing broadband demand on the continent, especially in rural and remote areas where terrestrial networks are limited.
