Japanese NEC-XON to help Benin digitalize its administrative services
Tuesday, 17 March 2020 18:49

The Republic of Benin has signed a deal with the Japanese telecommunications equipment supplier NEC-XON for the dematerialization of its administrative services. The paper was inked between Aurélie Adam Soulé Zoumarou, Benin’s Minister of the Digital, and Johan Slabber, Director of Africa at NEC-XON.

According to the government’s official, NEC-XON will support the State of Benin in projects for the complete digitalization of sectoral administrations, provision of digital solutions for public security, dematerialization of procedures, provision of infrastructure solutions and business models for rural connectivity and the establishment of collaborative spaces.

She stressed that this agreement also reflects the willingness of large companies to work with Benin. The Japanese ambassador to Benin, Kiyofumi Konishi, explained that the agreement signed between the country and the company is the result of discussions held since the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7), held in Japan in August 2019.
