Egypt: The ITI to launch a branch in Assouan
Wednesday, 20 February 2019 19:51

In Egypt, the IT institute ITI will open a new branch in Assouan to boost local students’ capabilities in the IT and Communications sector.

A cooperation agreement was signed in that regard, on February 18, 2019, between Heba Saleh, ITI’s president and Ahmed Gallab, president of Assouan University, in the presence of Amr Talaat, the communications minister, and Ahmed Ibrahim, governor of Assouan.

The institutions will prepare students on the labour market that will get more specialized with the coming of large tech firms.

Amr Talaat indicated that the Assouan branch is not the only one to be opened in the country since every region will have its own branch.

This new branch falls within the framework of the president’s initiative  "Egypt Manufactures Electronics"  whose aim is to promote the local development of electronic components that can be exported. For the communications minister, the aim is to create an environment conducive to the development of an electronic industry and support research and development activities.
