The Government of Benin announced, on 18 March 2020, the establishment of the national interoperability platform. The digital solution is an essential component of the regulatory framework for intelligent administration - Smart Gov - which the country's authorities have been striving to put in place since 2016.
The National Interoperability Platform is the integration of a set of technologies to ensure the secure exchange of data between different sources. Thanks to the framework for cooperation between public administration entities that it guarantees, the platform will make it possible to share and reuse information within the public administration, increase its efficiency, reduce costs for users, improve service quality, and control and reduce the costs associated with the development and maintenance of solutions.
The Smart Gov is one of the initiatives towards the country’s digital transformation. The government is currently working on the deployment of high-speed and very high-speed Internet throughout the country, the migration to Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), the development of e-commerce, and the use of digital tools in the education sector, as well as the promotion of digital content.
