By March 2019, the digitalization of the ministry of immigration will become effective in Malawi. The aim is to facilitate users’ access to the service and improve the services quality of the ministerial department.
Various processes and related payments can thus be done online. There will be no need to go to the ministry to request passports, a working visa, a residence permit or other services offered by the ministry of immigration, the ministry’s spokesperson Joseph Chauwa indicates.
The official explains that before the digitalization process, application processes were long and tedious because everything was manually done. Many parties had to come into the process before the service was finally delivered to the requester. The main parties are the immigration ministry, Malawi police, Malawi revenue authority and the financial intelligence unit.
With the digitalization process, things will get easier. The process was made possible by the technical expertise of Techno Brain Company Limited.
