Agip’s oil export reduce by 16,000 barrels thanks to pipeline attacks

Wednesday, 03 February 2016 11:24

The Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC)’s crude oil export has decreased by 16,000 barrels due to attack on pipelines supposedly performed by Niger Delta militants.

The company’s pipelines which covers Orukari, Golubokiri and Kpongbokiri communities in Brass Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, exploded last week Thursday.

Agip’s spokesman on Monday said the company was working toward renovating the affected sections and continue production.

According to Energy Mix reports, the explosion took place just two weeks after a previous attack on pipelines in Delta State made the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries to shut down. Sources at the National Oil Spills Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) had said that security agencies would have to first clear the site before NOSDRA officials can come in to evaluate the effect of the incident on the environment.
