Portugal’s REN’s Sines LNG terminal situated on the Atlantic coast is expected to receive a cargo of liquefied natural gas from Algeria next week.
The shipping data from the port of Sines shows that the 126, 132-cbm LNG carrier Mourad Didouche loaded the cargo at Algeria’s 16.3 metric ton per annum Arzew liquefied natural gas plant and is expected to be received in Portugal on October 10.Portugal’s LNG comes mostly from Nigeria, Algeria and Qatar.
The country’s only LNG import facility in Sines port has a capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per hour and 5.26 bcm per year, with a highest capacity of 900,000 cubic meters per hour, LNG World News reports.
In August, it received chilled fuel from Algeria via the 160, 500-cbm LNG tanker Sonangol Benguela.Also in February the terminal received a cargo of chilled gas through the 1981-built Ramdane Abane LNG carrier from Algeria’s Arzew liquefaction plant.
Portugal also receives Bonny export facility in Nigeria.
