Algeria’s 2016 oil and gas exports projected to increase by 11%

Thursday, 08 December 2016 14:19

Algeria's State-owned oil company Sonatrach expected its oil and gas exports to reach 109 million tons of oil equivalent in 2016, an increase of 11% compared to the 98 million TOE recorded in 2015, Amine Mazouzi, the company CEO, revealed.

According to Mazouzi, the increase mirrors a growth in major hydrocarbon production from H2 of 2016. He added that the North African country’s crude oil production was at 1.135 million barrels per day in November 2016 against a production of 1.051 million bpd recorded in 2015 and 1.056 million bpd in the first half of 2016.

Sonatrach? since October this year, managed to recover its significant yearly production capacity of 200 million tons of oil equivalent (TOE) and intends to produce over 207 million TOE in December 2016, Algeria Press Service reports.
