Portugal’s REN’s Sines LNG terminal situated on the Atlantic coast is expected to receive a cargo of liquefied natural gas from Nigeria.
The shipping data from the port of Sines shows that the 174,900-cbm LNG Finima II liquefied natural gas carrier has left Nigeria’s Bonny export facility, and is expected to be received at the terminal’s jetty on September 22, 2016.
Portugal’s LNG comes mostly from Nigeria, Algeria and Qatar. The country’s only LNG import facility in Sines port has a capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per hour and 5.26 bcm per year, with a highest capacity of 900,000 cubic meters per hour, LNG World News reports.
In August it imported chilled fuel from Bonny export plant via the 148,565-cbm LNG Kano, owned by BW.
Also in July the terminal received a cargo of liquefied natural gas from Nigeria through the 2004-built LNG Akwa Ibom tanker with the capacity to transport 141,000 cbm of the chilled fuel.
The Nigeria LNG’s Bonny Island facility has the capacity to produce 22 mtpa of liquefied natural gas from its six trains.
