Mozambique LNG in negotiations with India firms for the supply of LNG in Singapore

A consortium of Mozambique Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is currently in talks with Indian companies for the supply of LNG expected to be extracted and processed in Mozambique, Steve W. Hoyle, the Vice president of Anadarko Petroleum for natural gas and shipping revealed on Friday.

Hoyle said three of the participants in the consortium, (Oil and Natural Gas Corp, Bharat Petroleum and ONGC Overseas Ltd), cooperatively manage 30% of the project and the major players in the natural gas market in India.

According to Macauhub, the project, titled Area 1, is situated in the Rovuma basin north of Mozambique. The LNG consortium includes Anadarko Petroleum group, which operates the project with a 26.5% interest alongside Mitsui & Co with 20%, Oil and Natural Gas Corp with 16%, Bharat Petroleum with 10%, PTTEP with 8.5%, Oil India Limited with 4% and ENH with 15%.
