The Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), has announced plans to continue with the project of constructing pipelines coast to coast for the delivery of gas in Mozambique, a source from the company revealed.
"Based on the close relationship with the Government of Mozambique, a nation that is emerging as a new country with energy resources, we are planning to carry out the project of building a natural gas liquefaction plant in northern Mozambique and channel gas by pipeline which will reach close to 2,500 kilometers across the continent (interior of the country)", KOGAS said.
The company invested approximately 36 million dollars in the project in Maputo, permitting the supply to 14 factories and some hotels, estimating a revenue of about 128 million dollars in two decades.
As a matter of fact, subsequent to world-class reserves discovered in Mozambique especially the one in the Rovuma Basin, the country has the potential to become one of the biggest suppliers of natural gas globally. Rovuma Basin is located in the Indian Ocean, North of Mozambique, AGI reports.
