Wärtsilä Corp., a Finnish corporation which manufactures and services power sources and other equipment in the marine and energy markets, on Monday announced that it has entered into a five-year maintenance contract with Bonny Gas Transport.

The contract includes the delivery of spare parts as well as the monitoring and servicing of the engines of Bonny Gas Transport’s six new LNG carriers. The company will also provide expertise for inspections and major service overhauls.

The six LNG vessels has five Wärtsilä 50DF engines each and operate primarily on gas, LNG World news reports.

According to the General Manager Business development, Marine Agreements Wärtsilä Corporation, Simon Auseth, the company’s maintenance planning idea will assist Bonny Gas Transport in reducing the risk of interruptions in its operations.
