The Bonny Gas Transport Limited (BGT), a subsidiary of Nigeria Liquefied and Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) is expecting a delivery of four Dual Fuel Diesel Electric (DFDE) vessels by the end of 2015.

While speaking at the ship launch in Ulsan, Korea, the Vice President BGT and Managing Director of NLNG, Babs Omotowa (photo) revealed that the company had ordered for six vessels which were built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI). He added that four of the vessels are to arrive in Nigeria by the end of the year, while the other two ordered from SHI are expected in 2016.

Omotowa stated that companies like KabelMetal, Berger Paints, Paints and Coating Manufacturing Nigeria, as well as Metec West Africa, participated in the building of the vessels in Ulsan for the first time.

This August ceremony also prepares us for the future with plans for expansion of operations. NLNG is currently planning for an additional train that will increase its production capacity from 22 to 30 metric tons per annum. Our shipping capacity must also grow to meet the demands of this expansion”, Babs told Energy mix news.
