The Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd (NLNG) on Monday received the delivery of one of the six long awaited new ships it acquired from South Korea in 2015.
The vessel, NLNG Finima 11 was received by NLNG officials managed by NLNG Manager Commercial Shipping, Captain Ahmed Hambali Yusuf following the completion of the initial voyage, which terminated in Bonny Island, Rivers State.
The Finima 11 is owned by Bonny Gas Transport Limited, a subsidiary of NLNG and managed by NLNG Ship Management Limited (NSML). The vessel has a length of 293.193 metres, 47.80 metres and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) number 9690145, reports.
NLNG had announced in November 2015, that the remaining two vessels from the six it ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), are to be delivered in 2016.
According to the company, the new vessels signifies the company’s resolve to successfully curb the instability affecting the energy industry and remain a trusted partner and facilitator of global energy security.
