(Ecofin Agency) - As they aim to facilitate the appropriation of the 98-750 law of 23 December 1998 relative to rural land, Ivorian authorities launched a sensitization campaign in villages of the Bouaké department, in the central part of the country.
Addressing a group including traditional chiefs, members of villages’ committees for development and State agents, the various speakers, namely the representative of the minister of agriculture and rural development, Vehi Touré, and the Prefecture’s general secretary, Loubouet-Amani Michèle Hortense, highlighted the importance of good land management across the nation and in Bouaké especially. “It’s a privilege, an opportunity which we must seize to insure that this project is successful,” said Mrs Loubouet according to AIP.
The sensitization campaign thus falls under of the first part of the project to support revitalization of agricultural sectors in Cote d’Ivoire (PARFACI) entitled “Support to the implementation of rural land regulation”. This project, once operational, should help solve or prevent land-related issues by delineating village territories and by issuing land certificates.
